Biggest Loser... so far so good!

I am doing the Biggest Loser challenge with some awesome ladies at church.  Last Wednesday night was the first weigh in.. ready for the number..........

well.... should I post it, really?

Yes, I will...... 176!  I do NOT own a scale... and strongly believe in NEVER owning one (as I would watch the number too much).

The first person to lose 10% of their weight WINS ($100).  That would be to weigh 158.4 pounds for me... oh I would LOVE to weigh that!

So... what am I trying to do to keep myself focused...
~I have been trying to eat better.. you know eating the veggies (that I do like and have no probs eating so there is NO excuse not to) over grabbing the cheesz-its all the time!  I am really trying to eat a protein each meal along with the veggies and some fruit.
~Oh, bye bye DP.... I do miss you!!  I had two in total over week #1 versus have two per day!  I will still reward myself with a DP, as life is just NOT complete without it, lol.  I love water so again there is NO excuse not to drink it more.  And yes, I am more hydrated and feel better after one week of drinking mainly water (milk too) versus soda!
~My single biggest problem with eating is NOT eating breakfast (thus causing eating more later in the day and night), so I have REALLY tried to focus on that.  Today is the first day where I have mainly just had coffee (my norm as I just forget to eat something or get myself too busy).
~Well, I am really focused on doing my first 1/2 marathon on 10-3-09, so the timing of this challenge is PERFECT!  So... I went for a 2.5 mile walk/jog (jogged only 1 mile of it) Saturday morning early.  If felt great and I was feeling REALLY good until Sunday morning.  Yep, I had a hard time walking..... my dang hip!  REALLY, I am 31 years old and have a bad hip!!!!!  This would be from my car accident on 8-31-04... yep I am messed up for good, lol.  I know I need to ease into this so I do NOT injure myself more, so I am going to ask Debbie for some help... as I know she will have some great tips for strengthening, etc so I CAN do my 1/2 in October.

RESULTS for week ONE:
Last night I weighed in a 171... 5 pounds lost (2.84%)!  In all, I am VERY happy with that number!  I was really surprised to see any loss, as the cheez-its have started talking to me and besides for my attempt Saturday morning, I have not done my regular walks and kick boxing.

I need to work on my hip as it has mentally really taken a toll on me (well it has been a rough week emotionally too).  But really... I am 31 years old and I feel like I need a hip replacement!!!
